Soap isn't what it used to be, plain and simple. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has even stated, "Today there are very few true soaps on the market. Most body cleansers, both soap and liquid solid, are actually synthetic detergent products."

Marketed as "soaps", some of these detergents aren't actually regulated soap products. While mass-produced synthetic detergent soaps hit our store shelves and enter our homes, why not look at the alternative?

Why use natural artisan soaps

Natural soap won't dry out your skin or cause any skin irritation, as all of the ingredients are gentle and skin safe. It doesn't contain any synthetic ingredients, which can be absorbed by the skin and sometimes get into the bloodstream. The main ingredient in detergent liquid soaps is water (about 70%!), while the main ingredient in natural soap bars are skin-nourishing oils and butters. So, with natural soaps, you get what you pay for!

Since there are no preservatives in natural soaps to stay fresh-- they will last longer too! Provided that they have a chance to air dry between uses, natural soaps could last as long as 4 to 6 weeks longer than liquid soaps!

Environmental Impact

Now that you see how great natural soap bars are for your body and home, let's think about the planet. When you use soap bars you are eliminating the use of bulky bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body washes, liquid hand soap etc. No excessive packaging, no plastic, no garbage, no preservatives.
